Dr Liu Offers Expert-Led Heart Tests Tailored to Clinical Needs
Echocardiogram/ Stress Echo
An ultrasound scan that can assess the heart function, the heart valves, and other structures around the heart. It can also be used to test for significant coronary artery disease in a separate stress echocardiogram test.
Cardiac MRI
A comprehensive heart scan that is considered the best test for assessing heart pump function and the detection of heart muscle conditions. It is also good for assessing damage due to previous heart attacks.
Coronary Artery CT
A first-line test for non-invasively detecting coronary artery disease that may lead to a heart attack. It can also be used to assess the health of coronary artery bypass grafts or abnormal coronary artery connections.
Electrocardiogram (ECG)
Heart tracing that assesses the heart rate, rhythm and any electrical disturbance. As a screening test, it is performed lying down with sticker electrodes placed on the chest for a short time.
Holter monitoring
ECG monitor worn for 1-7 days to assess your heart rate, heart rhythm and for any electrical disturbances. Usually used to investigate palpitations or suspected heart rhythm disturbances.
Blood pressure monitoring
A monitor worn for 24 hours that continuously measures blood pressures. Usually used to accurately assess day and night blood pressures in order to guide treatment for hypertension.
