Dr Alexander Liu is a consultant cardiologist with expertise in advanced cardiac imaging, heart failure, cardio-oncology and inflammatory heart diseases, who is committed to personalised patient care.
He holds private consultations at the Nuffield Health Brighton Hospital and at The National Heart Clinic in Harley Street London.

Dr Liu graduated from Imperial College School of Medicine with distinction in Medical Sciences.
He was also awarded first-class honours in his intercalated BSc in Cardiovascular Sciences
He had been dedicated to the cardiology specialty from an early stage in his career which built the foundation to excelling in his clinical practice today.
Academic Excellence
Dr Liu is an Honorary Assistant Professor at the Brighton and Sussex Medical School.
He leads research in cardiac imaging and heart diseases, with over 50 publications in scientific journals
He has contributed to a clinical textbook chapter and regularly reviews manuscripts for scientific journals. He has served as an invited editor to journals.
Clinical Leadership
Dr Liu is the regional lead for cardiac sarcoidosis care in the Sussex County of over 1.6 million population.
He is part of the regional Cardio-oncology multi-disciplinary team (MDT) advising on patient care.
He runs regular cardiac imaging lists in both cardiac MRI and coronary CT. He has written hospital guidelines in cardiac MRI which are currently active.

Dr Alexander Liu
Cardiac Imaging
Dr Liu has over 15 years of combined experience in advanced cardiac imaging, including cardiac MRI and coronary CT. He achieved international level 3 accreditation in both modalities whilst working at the Royal Brompton Hospital. Dr Liu runs lists in both tests and is a specialist in the use of cardiac imaging to optimise the clinical diagnosis and treatment of his patients.
Inflammatory Heart Expert
Dr Liu is a specialist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with inflammatory heart conditions. He is the regional lead and tertiary referral specialist for cardiac sarcoidosis, myocarditis and pericarditis. His advisory role in the cardio-oncology MDT supplements his expertise in the care of heart conditions in patients with cancer.
Heart Failure and Cardiology
Dr Liu completed his clinical cardiology training at the Royal Brompton Hospital in London, where he developed a subspecialty interest in heart failure. He is an expert in the diagnosis and management of patients with heart failure and general cardiological symptoms, such as chest pains, palpitations, breathlessness and dizziness/blackout.
